Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure used to enhance the size and shape of a woman’s breasts. Breast volume can be lost following pregnancy and nursing, after weight loss, and during the natural aging process, and some women are genetically predisposed towards having small or uneven breasts.

Silicone Implants:
Material: Filled with silicone gel, which closely mimics the feel of natural breast tissue.
Advantages: Typically offers a more natural look and feel.
Considerations: Requires regular check-ups to ensure the implant is intact, as leaks can be less noticeable.
Saline Implants:
Material: Filled with sterile salt water.
Advantages: If a saline implant leaks, the saline is absorbed by the body, and the implant deflates, making it easier to detect.
Considerations: May feel less natural compared to silicone implants, and there’s a slightly higher risk of visible rippling.
Incision Sites:
Inframammary (Under the Breast Fold): Common and leaves a discreet scar.
Periareolar (Around the Nipple): Can be less noticeable but may affect nipple sensation.
Transaxillary (Under the Arm): Leaves no scars on the breast but may be less commonly used.
Implant Placement:
Submuscular (Under the Muscle): Placed under the chest muscle, which can provide a more natural appearance and reduce the risk of visible rippling.
Subglandular (Above the Muscle): Placed directly under the breast tissue, which may offer a quicker recovery but can increase the risk of rippling.
Immediate Post-Op: Expect swelling, bruising, and discomfort. Pain is typically managed with medication.
Initial Recovery: Most people return to light activities within a few days to a week. Avoid strenuous activities for several weeks.
Long-Term: Final results may take several months to fully materialize as swelling subsides and the implants settle.
